On Wednesday, after the high school shooting in Parkland Florida, Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) was quick to say that gun control may not have prevented the shooting.
During his appearance on Fox News, Rubio was asked if it was “the appropriate time” to talk about gun control. To which Rubio replied, “It’s not, only because people don’t know how this happened. [We don’t know] who this person is, what motivated them, how did they get a hold of the weapon that they used for this attack.”
However, we already know who the shooter is. He was identified as Nikolaus Cruz, a 19-year-old Trump supporter who had a fascination with guns. We also know that Cruz used an AR-15 semiautomatic rifle to carry out the shooting.
Rubio continued, “I think it’s important to know all of that before you jump to conclusions that there’s some law we could have passed that could have prevented it. There may be, but shouldn’t we at least know the facts?”
He added, “I think that we can always have that debate but if you’re going to have the debate about this particular incident, you should know the facts of that incident before you run out and prescribe some law you claim could have prevented it.”
One thing to note about Rubio is that he has received $3,303,355 from the NRA while serving as a senator. Also during the 2015-2016 campaign cycle, he received an “A+” rating from the NRA.
.@marcorubio received $90,205 in campaign donations from gun rights groups during the 2015-2016 campaign cycle and received an "A+" grade from the NRA. Below are some reactions to Rubio’s comment:
Free drinks for everyone at the local bar when this asshole gets voted out in a few years.

In other words… "What's a few kids compared to the money I make from the NRA?"

F*ck these people.
He should be required to attend every single funeral for these victims.
How ridiculous! Of course common sense gun control would be critical to minimizing these shootings. @marcorubio If you can’t see that you’re just blinded by the NRA $$ given to you.

Says the dude who accepted over almost $3 million from the NRA. Yeah sure you can’t do anything about it Marco.
