Whoops: Giuliani just admitted Trump reimbursed Cohen for Stormy Daniels payment- Spells big trouble for Trump

On Wednesday, Rudy Giuliani, who recently joined Trump’s legal team, admitted that Trump reimbursed Michael Cohen for the $130,000 payment to Stormy Daniels.

During an interview with Sean Hannity, Giuliani told the Fox News audience that the payment was “perfectly legal” and “not campaign money.” This was meant to clarify that the money didn’t violate campaign finance laws.

“Funneled through a law firm, and the president repaid it,” Giuliani said.

“He didn’t know about the specifics of it as far as I know, but he did know about the general arrangement, that Michael would take care of things like this,” he said.

In an apparent effort to fix the mistake Giuliani just made, Hannity returned to the payment topic later in the interview.

“That was money that was paid by his lawyer, the way I would do, out of his law firm funds or whatever funds, it doesn’t matter. The president reimbursed that over a period of several months,” Giuliani said.

Hannity then responded by insisting that he remembered Cohen making the payment without Trump’s knowledge.

“I don’t know, I haven’t investigated that. No reason to dispute that, no reason to dispute his recollection,” Giuliani replied.

“The fact is, just trust me, they’re going to come up with no violation there,” he said. “The payment was perfectly legal, all documented.”

Despite what Giuliani says, if the President knew about the payment, it could spell big legal trouble.

In the past, Trump has told reporters that he knew nothing about the Stormy Daniels payment. He only recently admitted that Cohen represented him in the matter.

Cohen has decided to assert his Fifth Amendment right and not respond to the legal inquiries.
