On Monday, a bill to rename a Utah highway after Trump was approved by Utah state legislators.

The bill, HB481, was advanced on a 9-2 vote.

On Thursday, State Rep. Mike Noel (R) introduced the bill which would rename the National Parks Highway to “Donald J. Trump Utah National Parks Highway.”

According to Noel, this move is to recognize Trump’s decision to shrink two national monuments, Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante.

He added that the renaming of the highway is to also honor a president who keeps his promises.

The bill received heavy criticism from Democrats and environmental groups.

If the bill becomes law, the new name for the highway would appear on maps and road signs. The Department of Transportation will also install a new sign to show the change.

Democratic Rep. Jim Dabakis of Utah also responded saying that he’ll introduce an amendment to rename the frontage road after Stormy Daniels if the bill is presented to the Senate.
