
Donald Trump has repeatedly embarrassed the United States when responding to disasters around the world. As a result, world leaders have by and large quit cooperating with the U.S. unless absolutely necessary.
In previous years, all information surrounding the attack would have been shared with the United States in order to combine intelligence power. The United States spends far more on intelligence and other military assets than any other country in the world, so it’s usually a benefit to share any information with U.S. authorities.

However, according to CBS News, this time German authorities are not collaborating with U.S. authorities in the immediate aftermath of the attack.
The incident is being treated as terrorism, but the suspect’s identification has not yet been transferred to the U.S., a U.S. intelligence source told CBS News.
Why would Germany withheld information? During previous terror attacks in London, British intelligence services were caught off guard when President Trump began releasing unverified information via Twitter. This breach of trust was publicly rebuked by Prime Minister Theresa May.
