On Friday, during his interview with Fox & Friends, Trump stated that he wants “his people” to treat him the way North Koreans treat Kim Jong Un.

Trump stated, “He’s the head of a country, and I mean he’s the strong head, don’t let anyone think anything different. He speaks and his people sit up at attention. I want my people to do the same.”

Trump was also asked if Kim could be a guest at the White House soon and Trump replied, “I think it’s something that could happen.”

Host Steve Doocy did not ask any more questions to clarify what Trump meant by “wanting his people to do the same.”

However, after the Fox News interview, reporters asked him what he meant about wanting his “people” to listen to him like North Koreans. In which Trump claimed he was simply joking. He stated, “I was kidding. You don’t understand sarcasm.”

Since Trump came back from meeting Kim Jong Un in Singapore, he has repeatedly praised and expressed admiration for the North Korean dictator. Even during his Fox News interview, he claimed that he “hit it off” with Kim. He also added, “We get along very well, we had good chemistry.”
