On Tuesday, Trump took a trip to California to see the prototypes for his controversial border wall. His trip took place just hours after he fired now former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson on Twitter.

While he was standing alongside the prototypes of the wall, Trump described it as “our first line of defense.”

He then went on to claim the wall will “save hundreds of billions of dollars — many, many times what it’s going to cost.” However, this statement has been debunked many times in the past.

He then continued to slam California for its sanctuary policies, describing the policies as “best friends of the criminal.”

He went on to criticize California Governor Jerry Brown.

Trump stated,”I think Governor Brown has done a very poor job running California.” He added that California “has the highest taxes in the United States” and that the state is “out of control.”

He also claimed that Oakland’s mayor notifies people when ICE is going out to round up people.

While he was there, he expressed his desire for “see-through” walls.

He stated, “You have to have see-through. You have to know what’s on the other side of the wall.” He insisted that see-through walls would block smugglers who are “professional mountain climbers.”

Following his comments about the border wall, Trump received instant backlash:
