During a major speech to the South Korean National Assembly in Seoul, Trump promoted his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey.
Before he urged North Korea to “come to the table” to negotiate their nuclear weapons program, he deviated his speech to talk about Korean golfers being “some of the best” in the world.
Trump stated, “Korean golfers are some of the best on Earth.”
He then shamelessly promoted his golf course.
He continued, “In fact, and you know what I’m going to say, the Women’s U.S. Open was held this year at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, N.J.”
“And it just happened to be won by a great Korean golfer, Park Sung-hyun, and eight of the top players were from Korea, and the top four golfers, one, two, three, four, the top four were from Korea,” he said.
He added, “Congratulations, that’s really something.”
His comment received applause.
This is not the first time he mentioned his properties in official statements. His previous comments have been criticized by ethics experts for using his presidency to promote his properties.
Below are some reactions are Twitter:
This is disgusting. Trump is literally promoting his Bedminster golf course in a speech to the South Korea National Assembly.

Trump is plugging his golf course at Bedminster to South a Korean National Assembly. This is not f***ing normal.

So hard to watch, like a train wreck…can’t look away. The best part was how he touted Korean golfers as best in the world, while segueing his way to plug the Trump golf course in Bedminster, NJ
