Early Wednesday, House Speaker Paul Ryan announced that he will not be seeking reelection this November. This is considered a big blow to the Republican Party.
Ryan told reporters that his decision is based on wanting to spend more time with his family.
“You all know that I did not seek this job,” Ryan said. “I took it reluctantly.
He went on: “But the truth is it’s easy for it to take over everything in your life and you can’t just let that happen.” He also mentioned that he didn’t want to be “only a weekend dad.”
With Ryan leaving, that brings the grand total to nearly 30 House GOP lawmakers that will be vacating their seats this fall. The Dems only need to take 23 seats to flip control of the chamber.
Speaker Paul Ryan is a truly good man, and while he will not be seeking re-election, he will leave a legacy of achievement that nobody can question. We are with you Paul!

The Twittersphere was apparently not happy with Trump’s sentiments and quickly destroyed him in the responses.
1) Huge tax breaks for billionaires
2) A Congress so divided that it’s basically paralysed
3) A president UNCHECKED BY CONGRESS dismantling democracy, destroying the environment, tweeting double-dog-dares, and fiddling with his little red button.

Paul Ryan is a pathetic excuse for a man. He is responsible for a great deal of human suffering.

The first invertebrate to hold the position of Speaker of the House.

Paul Ryan was one of your biggest ass kissing, spineless sycophants and is NOT a good man. Hes a coward who knows he was destined to lose in November, so he quits. We are not with him and are glad to see him go. America will not look back kindly on Lyin’ Paul Ryan. Bye Felicia.

Paul Ryan is a TRAITOR just like you. America will not be safe until all of you are out of office.
