According to a transcript of a private conservation that Donald Trump had with UK Prime Minister Theresa May, Trump begged May to “fix it” so he can have a warm welcome for his visit to Britain.
The private conservation comes after his state visit was postponed until next year because there were about two million people who signed a petition calling for Trump’s visit to be canceled because it may “embarrass” the Queen. However, May rejected the petition.
The transcript was reportedly seen by senior diplomats.
According to the transcript, Trump said, “I haven’t had great coverage out there lately, Theresa.” To which May awkwardly responded, “Well, you know what the British press are like.”
Trump answered, “I still want to come, but I’m in no rush. So, if you can fix it for me, it would make things a lot easier. When I know I’m going to get a better reception, I’ll come and not before.”
Apparently, members of Parliament are taunting Trump stating that it is “like asking turkeys to get more into the Christmas spirit.”
Back in January, May invited Trump when she was visiting Washington D.C. However, because there were fears of huge protests a specific date was not arranged.
