On Wednesday, Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao didn’t hold back speaking her mind on Trump critics who don’t want to listen to him during the World Economic Forum’s annual meeting in Davos.

She was speaking at a panel discussion during the World Economic Forum in Davos. She praised Trump for his decision to attend the forum.

Trump will become the first president in nearly two decades to attend the gathering.

The last president to go to the forum was Bill Clinton who attended the event in 2000.

Chao stated, “Davos should feel very flattered that he has chosen this as a forum.”

She continued, “Those who don’t want to listen to him can leave.”

Chao defended Trump’s decision to attend when she was pressed on whether the forum aligned with Trump’s rhetoric on free trade and globalism. She said that Trump was attending so he can gather and exchange ideas with world leaders.

Also during the discussion, she tried to dismiss claims that Trump has withdrawn the US’ role as a global leader.

She stated, “When we talk about America around the globe, it’s not as if America is going to withdraw.”

Donald is expected to leave for Davos soon. He will give an address on Friday.
