On Friday, there were eight Montgomery County students who staged a lie-in’ outside of House Speaker Paul Ryan’s office demanding him to pass common-sense gun control legislation. However, four of them ended up getting arrested.

A fellow student live-streamed the ‘lie-in’ on the Montgomery County Students for Gun Control Periscope page.

In the video, you can see the students on the ground with signs on their chests that read, “ALLOW THE VOTE.” Then, Capitol Police show up and warn them that they can’t stay there or they’ll be arrested. Four of the students were arrested and were charged with misdemeanors.

The students organized the protest as a response to the shooting that happened earlier that day at Sante Fe High School which left 10 dead and 10 others wounded.

The lie-in caught the attention of David Hogg, one of the student survivors of the Parkland shooting.

Hogg tweeted, “I love these kids almost as much as loves arresting students practicing their First Amendment rights to peacefully protest.
