In a Thursday edition of a North Korean state newspaper, Trump is described as a psychopath who will launch a preemptive strike in order to distract from the domestic problems.
The paper goes on to warn that South Korea will only harm themselves by aligning with Trump and the U.S.
“South Korea must realize that following psychopath Trump…will only lead to disaster,” said the Rodong Sinmun newspaper.
The paper points out that Trump is facing a possible impeachment due to the U.S. government being caught in a crisis. This is an obvious reference to the Russian election meddling and the Trump administration’s alleged complicity.
While Trump had initially talked about establishing some diplomacy with North Korea, his tone seems to have changed. After the return of a comatose U.S. student, Otto Warmbier, Trump described the North Korean regime as “brutal.” Otto died just a few days later.
The U.S. government has yet to announce any retaliations for the death of the U.S. student. Trump has placed some blame with both China and Barack Obama for the death.
