According to three sources, special counsel Robert Mueller’s team has been talking to witnesses about Trump’s Russian business dealings before he decided to run for president. This move potentially crosses a red line that Trump has drawn for Mueller.

Mueller’s team has reportedly been asking about the timing of Trump’s decision to run and if the Russians had any comprising information on him.

The investigators are focusing their questions on Trump’s trip to Moscow for the Miss Universe pageant in 2013.

They are also asking about Trump’s failed attempt to brand a Trump Tower in Moscow.

The sources added they can’t tell from just the questions if Mueller has any evidence of wrongdoing.

Trump has publically stated that he will testify under oath with Mueller.

However, his lawyers have quickly backtracked on Trump’s claim, saying that he “spoke hurriedly.”

So far, Michael Flynn, the former national security adviser, former Trump campaign associates George Papadopoulos, and former Trump campaign adviser Richard Gates have all pleaded guilty in the investigation.

Mueller has also indicted 13 Russian nationals for alleged interference in the 2016 presidential campaign.
