On Twitter, Kid Rock hinted that he plans to run for Senate in 2018. He also promised that a “major announcement” is expected to come soon.

On the “Kid Rock ’18 for U.S. Senate website” that he linked on Twitter, there is a photo of him with the question “Are you scared?” The site also has a box with alternating slogans, “In Rock We Trust,” “Party to the People” and “You Never Met a Politician Quite Like Me.”

As of Wednesday, the names “Kid Rock” or his legal names  Robert James Ritchie or Robert Ritchie have not been registered to the Federal Election Committee.

If Rock is serious about the run, he would be challenging to unseat Democrat Debbie Stabenow who is up for reelection in 2018.

Stabenow seemed to not be worried about her new potential challenger, she tweeted:

Kid Rock is a supporter of Trump who performed at the 2016 Republican National Convention in Cleveland. In April, he visited the White House with former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin and fellow rocker Ted Nugent.

This announcement comes one day after someone created a campaign committee for Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson so he can run as a presidential candidate in 2020.

Kid Rock doesn’t have a clean past. Back in 2007, he was arrested for beating up a man at a Waffle House.
