Rep. Diane Black (R-TN) is now trying to push legislation that would allow Americans to crowdfund Trump’s border wall.
Black introduced legislation that would create a “border wall trust fund.” The fund would “allow the Secretary of the Treasury to accept public donations to fund the construction of a barrier on the border between the United States and Mexico, and for other purposes.”
During her interview with Fox News, Black stated that this bill would allow people “who really want to see a secure border” to donate to the trust fund.
She also floated the idea of commemorating the people who donate by putting up plaques along the wall.

At one point, Fox News host Harris Faulkner asked, “What happened to Mexico paying for it?”
Black replied, “I would like for Mexico to pay for that, and I’m not close enough to the administration to see what kind of pressure they’re putting on them.”
According to Black, since she introduced the legislation, she has received a lot of positive responses from people who want to donate. Black also revealed that once the bill is passed, she and her husband would be the first to donate.
