Former American Nazi leader is running unopposed in Illinois congressional primary (Details)

A Holocaust denier and former American Nazi leader is the only candidate on the ballot in the GOP primary for Illinois’ third congressional district.

Arthur Jones has described the Holocaust as “an international extortion racket.” Even on his website that promotes his congressional run, he included a section that is titled “Holocaust?” where he described “the Holocaust racket” as “the biggest blackest lie in history.”

There is reportedly another section on his website titled “Flags of Conflict,” where he celebrates the Confederate flag, describing it as “a symbol of White pride and White resistance.”

This is not the first time he has run for the Republican primary in Illinois’ 3rd Congressional District.

His first bid was in the 1990s. The most recent was in 2016 but he was legally removed. Every time he has run he has never been a viable candidate.

Even if he wins the GOP nomination, the Illinois Republican party revealed they will not support him.

In a statement by Tim Schneider, Illinois Republican Party chairman, he stated, “The Illinois Republican Party and our country have no place for Nazis like Arthur Jones.”

Schneider continued, “We strongly oppose his racist views and his candidacy for any public office, including the 3rd Congressional District.”

The primary will be held on March 20th.
