Adam Schiff calls out Trump for his latest impeachable offense (Details)

Donald Trump continues to bury himself in scandals and offenses that could very well end in his impeachment. While Republicans have been reluctant to do anything while they hold power, a shift in Congress after November could spell doom for Trump and his presidential legacy.

On Sunday, the President made a chilling tweet indicating that he would go after the FBI/DOJ to find out if anyone surveilled his campaign.

“I hereby demand, and will do so officially tomorrow, that the Department of Justice look into whether or not the FBI/DOJ infiltrated or surveilled the Trump Campaign for Political Purposes – and if any such demands or requests were made by people within the Obama Administration!”

Congressman Schiff replied that this was an effort by Trump to distract the public from the President’s growing list of legal problems. He added that the idea of a spy was “nonsense.”

More importantly, Schiff points out that this tweet by the President is an abuse of power- an impeachable offense. He also points out that the DOJ has previously warned Trump that these types of tantrums are risking lives and alliances.

If Democrats obtain enough additional seats in Congress after the midterm elections, all of this will likely surface as evidence for impeachment.
